I have officially completed weight loss challenge week 2 of the 30 day weight loss challenge.  I think it is safe to say that right now I am trending slow and steady.  To be fair, over the last two years I have consistently lost weight and stayed healthy so my body is sitting at the weight it wants to be at.  With my life being as hectic as it is right now, I have not put in the effort to really push myself and workout so that will be the next step in this challenge.  So far, the results of the challenge have been:

Week 1: -.5 lbs

Week 2: -.5 lbs

Ever little bit I lose is a win so I am by no means disappointed.  One of the perks of working from home is that I have been able to cook almost all of my meals.  The harder parts have been socializing and when I work long days on the weekends with my clients.  Last weekend (week 1) was Memorial Day weekend so I was hanging out with friends, eating delicious food and sipping cocktails.  This past weekend, I went to a friends birthday craw fish boil and though I am allergic to shellfish and could not eat it (bummer!), I did make up the calories with wine and champagne.  Bottom line, I need to resist temptation.  Now, I cannot blame everything on one weekend and I also fully believe that everybody needs to cheat one day a week.  If you aren’t cheating, you probably are going to binge on processed and/or fast food at some point.  You know the old saying…we all want what we can’t have.

 

What I am going to change next week:

I am going to refresh my perspective and watch Forks Over Knives again (a favorite of mine) to remember what I need to be doing and why I am doing it.  Also, I will dust off my Forks Over Knives Cookbook so I can get new ideas for meals, smoothies and all of its delicious goodness.  No joke…after I watched this film for the first time, I followed their plan (for the most part) and lost 20 pounds!  It is life changing.
